Lebanon Must Urgently Form a New Government or Face Risk of Financial Crisis
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has urged the Lebanese to urgently form a new government, warning that otherwise they will face the risk of a financial crisis.
“They need to form a government quickly, as any delay will continue to worsen the situation,” the minister stated.
Six weeks after Prime Minister Saad Hariri's resignation, the financial crisis in Lebanon raises concerns. Banks are imposing restrictions on capital movement, the dollar is in short supply, and the Lebanese pound has lost a third of its value in the black market.
It is noteworthy that a meeting of the international support group for Lebanon will be held in France on Wednesday.
