Initiators of the ‘Armenian Revival Assembly’ Movement Prepare to Transform It into a Political Party
The ‘Hraparak’ newspaper reports that the initiators of the ‘Armenian Revival Assembly’ movement are preparing to transform the movement into a political party in the near future. Notably, the initiators include former MP Aragat Akhoyan from the Prosperous Armenia faction, former Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Arthur Arakelyan, constitutional expert Vardan Ayvazyan, Vahan Hovhannisyan, and Suren Okmyan. The latter is the son-in-law of former Republican Party MP Mher Sedrakyan.
The party is expected to be formed in early 2020, and there are discussions regarding the idea of not having a single leader. Instead, a supreme body will be created, likely headed by Arthur Arakelyan. However, the new entity will be governed by collective decisions.
