47-Year-Old Man Stabbed in Gyumri

On December 7, around 4 PM, a report was received at the police station in Mush from the ambulance service that a 47-year-old man had been transported to the hospital with stab wounds to the chest and abdomen from Charles Aznavour Square in Gyumri.

A police operational group was dispatched to the medical center. However, the victim was unable to provide any explanation.

A forensic examination was ordered. The nature of the injuries suggested that he had been stabbed. Due to the diligent work of the law enforcement agencies, the identity of the assailant and the circumstances were established two days later.

As a result of measures taken in conjunction with the officers of the Akhuryan police department, it was determined that on December 7, at 3:30 PM, near a shoe repair shop at the beginning of Shcherbina Street in Gyumri, during a dispute, a 65-year-old resident of Khoshtoyan Street had inflicted bodily injury on the victim with a kitchen knife.

On December 9, the suspect was taken into custody at the Mush police department. He has provided a confessional statement. The circumstances are under investigation. Efforts are underway to locate the knife. The investigation continues.
