Violations at Hrazdan Medical Center LLC

Employees of the Kotayk Territorial Division of the State Architecture, Technical, and Fire Safety Inspectorate of Armenia conducted inspections from November 26 to 28, 2019, at the Hrazdan Medical Center LLC located in Hrazdan, Kotayk Province, based on the instructions of the Inspectorate's head dated November 20, 2019.

As a result of the inspections, several deficiencies and violations regarding fire safety regulations were identified. Specifically, the construction elements of the medical center's roof had not been treated with fire-resistant solutions or coverings, an external fire escape was missing, there was no metal grating located around the perimeter of the building's roof, and the external firefighting hydrant or at least a 50m³ fire-rescue pool was not provided in the facility's area or outside of it. Additionally, the fire hydrants on the internal fire supply network were not equipped with hoses and nozzles.

A relevant report regarding the identified violations was drawn up and submitted to the director of Hrazdan Medical Center LLC, L. Karapetyan, along with an order to eliminate the mentioned deficiencies. The specialists of the Inspectorate also conducted awareness and consultation activities at the medical establishment regarding the compliance with fire and technical safety regulations for hospitals, polyclinics, and outpatient clinics, ensuring safety during fires, evacuation protocols, fire safety within medical facilities, and the actions of personnel and responsible individuals during a fire and the application of initial fire extinguishing measures.
