Expired Food Discovered and Destroyed
Employees of the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Ministry of Health of Armenia, as part of ongoing inspections in educational institutions, found that the food supplier for the No. 1 secondary schools in the villages of Noyakert and Ararat in the Ararat region, as well as kindergartens in Masis city and the village of Vosketegh, violated the technical specifications set forth in the contracts.
Specifically, instead of the 20% sour cream stipulated in the contract, the company "Eva and Syuzhi" LLC supplied all the listed educational institutions with an 18% plant-based product manufactured using sour cream technology. Additionally, the kindergarten in Vosketegh received concentrated milk containing vegetable oil and yogurt produced in Russia instead of local products.
By investigating the operations of "Eva and Syuzhi" LLC based on the principle of traceability, it was revealed that this company also owns the "Shirak" retail network of stores operating in Yerevan. During the supervisory measures conducted in these stores, a significant amount of expired food and products with labeling violations were discovered.
The expired food was destroyed on-site, while the items with labeling violations were removed from sale.
