Artsakh is Armenia, but roaming data costs 45 drams. Ioannisyan on ‘G-Telecom’
Daniel Ioannisyan, founder and program coordinator of the ‘Informed Citizens’ Union NGO, wrote on his Facebook page: “Artsakh is Armenia, but roaming data costs 45 drams per megabyte. When I travel to Europe and the USA with an Armenian number, I pay 6.5 drams per megabyte. In Artsakh, I pay 7 times more—45 drams—and receive slow and unstable mobile internet. Moreover, for local residents, the price per megabyte is 25 drams, which is nearly 100 times more expensive than what I pay in Armenia. The only place I’ve paid more for mobile internet is Senegal. ‘G-Telecom’ and its monopolists could write a book on how to obstruct the flow of tourists and business visitors to Artsakh.”
