Trees Cut Down at 29 Fuchik Street: City Hall Unable to Act as Area is Private
Recently, trees have been cut down at 29 Fuchik Street in Yerevan's Ajapnyak administrative district, despite not being dry. This was reported by user Lili Khachatryan on her Facebook page.
Addressing the head of the Ajapnyak district, she wrote: “Why are they cutting these trees at the root? I have personally seen that they are healthy trees, not dry at all, and during the season, they posed no fire hazard.”
Another Facebook user, Sona Manukyan, shared her concerns regarding the issue, stating: “The 'owner' of the area said that all the trees will be cut down, and a building will be constructed right in front of our windows.”
In an interview with Tert.am, spokesperson for the Yerevan City Hall, Hakob Karapetyan, commented on the situation, saying, “If it is a private area, unfortunately, the city hall cannot do anything.” He also noted that if it were a public area, those responsible would definitely be held accountable.
