Tehmine Vardanyan Suggests Directing 271 Million Dram from Reserve Fund to Gyumri

Tehmine Vardanyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the 'Lus' faction, made a post on her Facebook page addressing the city's New Year expenses.

“Yesterday at the council meeting, I spoke about the enormous amount of money allocated by the government and the city municipality for events held in Republic Square, approximately 321 million drams. I want to clarify that this does not include the New Year expenses of administrative districts. Including these, the total amount comes to around 550 million drams. I would advise the government to direct that 271 million dram from the reserve fund to Gyumri. How many households could be addressed with that amount? Now that would be a 'New Year miracle.' The city municipality could also simply reduce its spending and solve many pressing issues that are critical. New Year has always been celebrated well in Yerevan. There’s no need to spend 1.2 million dollars and take pride in it.
