Individual Approach to Each Family Living in Temporary Shelters in Gyumri
31 years after the devastating earthquake, there are still tasks to accomplish in Gyumri, but the mood is optimistic. This was noted by the governor of Shirak province and the mayor of Gyumri in an interview with Armenpress.
“Now is the time to work and finalize the results to showcase them. Today, we have 3,600 temporary houses and the fate of 3,600 families. There are changes, and we are working to ensure that as a result of these changes, each Gyumri resident can live with dignity, create, and move forward,” emphasized Governor Tigran Petrosyan, announcing that an individual approach is necessary for each family living in temporary shelters.
Mayor Samvel Balasanyan also mentioned that over the years, many housing and social programs have been implemented in the city, but the scars left by the disaster were so profound that completely erasing them is still not possible.
