Armenian President Armen Sarkissian Honors Victims of the 1988 Earthquake in Gyumri

On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the 1988 earthquake, President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian visited Gyumri today to pay tribute to the victims of the disaster.

President Sarkissian laid a wreath at the memorial dedicated to the innocent victims of the earthquake and observed a minute of silence in their memory. A commemorative service for the earthquake victims was conducted under the leadership of Father Mikayel Ajapahyan, the Archbishop of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
