Major Accident in Downtown Yerevan: Driver's Condition Critical

At 04:36 AM on December 6, a report was received by the 911 service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia regarding a traffic accident at the intersection of Moscow and Abovyan streets in Yerevan, indicating a fuel leak and casualties.

Two firefighting and rescue units from the Emergency Situations Department of Yerevan responded to the scene. It was determined that an "Opel Astra G" and a "Mercedes S-Class" had collided (the identities of the drivers could not be established), causing the "Opel Astra G" to veer off the road and end up on the sidewalk, with the gas cylinder ejected approximately 15 meters from the vehicle, resulting in a leak.

Before the rescuers arrived, the driver of the "Opel Astra G" was hospitalized at Heratsi Hospital No. 1, and subsequently transferred to Erebuni Medical Center, where doctors assessed the driver’s health condition as critical.

The rescuers have closed the valves on the gas cylinders of the vehicles and disconnected the power supply to the "Opel Astra G."
