‘Hraparak’. Thieves-in-law Preparing for Major Gathering

‘Hraparak’ newspaper reports that a significant number of ‘thieves-in-law’ and ‘criminals’ have recently arrived in Armenia, many of whom have been welcomed and accommodated by the notorious figure in the crime world, Artyom Kanewskoy, also known as Arthur Harutyunyan.

They are preparing to hold a large gathering in Tsaghkadzor this weekend to discuss their future actions. This meeting comes on the heels of a recently passed legislation in the Armenian Parliament concerning ‘criminals’, prompting these individuals to synchronize their own laws.

According to our sources, they have already made several amendments to their ‘internal legislation’. For instance, it will no longer be mandatory to answer positively to the question ‘Are you a thief?’ Previously, even law enforcement posed this question, and the 'thieves-in-law' were obligated to respond affirmatively; failure to do so would be regarded as a breach of their code. Now, however, they will be operating under what they refer to as ‘strakhovkany’, or insurance agreements.
