What is the connection between the NSS and the dismissal of police chiefs?
Today, on December 5, the acting head of the police of Armenia, police colonel Arman Sargsyan, has signed orders. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, by Sargsyan's order, Armen Harutyunyan has been dismissed from the position of head of the Yeghgnadzor police department.
By another order of the acting head of the police, Harutyunyan has been appointed as the temporary acting head of the Tumanyan police department.
As previously reported, the powers of the head of the Tumanyan police department, Lernik Gigolyan, have been temporarily suspended, as he is involved as a suspect in a criminal case opened by the National Security Service.
