Video of Mnatsakanyan-Mamedyarov Meeting: What Was Discussed
On December 4, in Bratislava, within the framework of the 26th OSCE Ministerial Council, a meeting took place between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Elmar Mamedyarov. The meeting was mediated and attended by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group: Igor Popov (Russia), Stefan Visconti (France), Andrew Schofer (USA), and the personal representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk.
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the discussions during the meeting focused on the consolidation of the ceasefire, the implementation of confidence-building measures, as well as plans for continuing joint efforts at the beginning of next year.
Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized the modest achievements recorded within the framework of agreements to prepare the nations for peace, particularly through the implementation of a journalistic exchange program between Armenia, Artsakh, and Azerbaijan. The continuation of similar direct engagement between journalists and societies was considered in this context. At the same time, the importance of implementing other confidence-building measures was highlighted.
Referring to his meeting with the Foreign Minister of Artsakh the day before in Yerevan, Minister Mnatsakanyan reiterated the necessity of the direct involvement of the authorities in Artsakh, especially regarding substantive issues of the settlement.
