Excessive Talk Against Vanetsyan: How Much Was the Deputy Minister's Share?
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that yesterday Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Gevorg Loretsyan was arrested while receiving a bribe to intervene in a tender and ensure the victory of the briber.
He was appointed as the Deputy Minister for Sports in October 2018, having previously served as the Deputy Chair of the State Property Management Committee, and from 2015 to 2018, he was the editor of the international department of VivaroNews.
He is affiliated with the ruling Civil Contract party and participated in the protests of the 2018 revolution with a confident demeanor.
Loretsyan is not the first member of the revolutionary government to be caught engaging in corruption; the case of the Deputy Minister of Health is still fresh in our memory.
According to our sources, the deal in question involves a tender worth 60 million drams that the supplier was to win. The middleman in the transaction was Loretsyan's driver, who is reportedly his friend and who transferred the money.
The deputy minister's share was supposed to be 1 million drams. He was caught at the moment of receiving the first tranche of 300 thousand drams. In the NSS yesterday, they stated: "We punished him; he was talking too much against our former director, Vanetsyan."
