As of 08:30, the Sotk-Karabakh Road is Closed, Spitak Bends are Difficult to Navigate, Blizzard in Vardenis
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of December 5 at 08:32, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.
The Sotk-Karabakh road is closed. The Vardenyats Pass (from the Gegharkunik region) is closed for heavy vehicles and difficult to navigate for others. The Spitak bends are also difficult to navigate. There is black ice on the Vardenyats Pass and the Sotk-Karabakh road.
In Vardenis, Gegharkunik region, there is a blizzard on the Sotk-Karabakh road. Snowfall is reported in the cities of Gavar in Gegharkunik region, Sisian in Syunik region on the “Zanger” section, Jermuk in Vayots Dzor region, Saravan-Zanger road, and in Berd and Dilijan towns in Tavush region.
Fog is observed in Ashtarak, Aragatsotn region. According to the information received from the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepanavan-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
Construction work is taking place on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Bagratashen road, which has resulted in the segment being closed for heavy vehicles. An alternative route has been established: Dilijan-Novemberyan-Bagratashen.
