Ara Babloyan and Arsen Babayan's Charges Might Be Amended

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that, according to its sources, the Special Investigative Service (SIS) is set to drop part of the charges against Ara Babloyan and Arsen Babayan related to the usurpation of power under Article 300 of the Criminal Code. It should be noted that they face two charges: usurpation of power and committing official forgery.

The serious charge of usurpation of power led to Babayan being held in detention for 22 days, but he was subsequently released. This pertains to Hrayr Tovmasyan's appointment as the President of the Constitutional Court; however, the charges are so baseless that after their initiation, no investigative actions were carried out with the “accused,” and now they are preparing to drop the serious charge while only maintaining the forgery charge to avoid completely discrediting the SIS.
