Ms. Anna Probably Does Not Understand or Realize What a Dangerous Statement She Is Making: Political Scientist

Political scientist Gagik Hambardzoum made a Facebook post regarding Anna Hakobyan's statement today, in which she mentioned wanting to invite Azerbaijan's First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva as a guest to Artsakh, where mugham would be ensured.

The post states: “Anna Hakobyan, the wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, responded to Azerbaijan's First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, who recently posted on her Telegram account that it is everyone's dream to listen to mugham in Artsakh… First, it is interesting why Ms. Hakobyan is responding to Mehriban… The many anti-Armenian rants from Aliyeva do not portray her as merely the wife of Ilham Baba, but as the second figure of the state, as a political figure… It is astounding that Ms. Hakobyan, who is merely Mr. Pashinyan's wife, constantly attempts to stand out, and in this case also “enter” such a dangerous domain as the Artsakh issue with her pacifism…

Anna Hakobyan's most ridiculous suggestion to Aliyeva is that she promises “on our behalf” that she can ensure mugham, granting Mehriban khanum's dream of hearing her favorite mugham in Artsakh… Interestingly, throughout her entire text, Ms. Anna uses the term 'Artsakh,' yet for some reason in this sentence the Persian-Turkish name 'Karabakh' appears… No one asks Ms. Hakobyan why a foreign Turk, who is one of the most active participants and patrons of anti-Armenian propaganda in the very Azerbaijan, should be able to listen to her preferred mugham in Artsakh, a land for which thousands of Armenian sons have sacrificed their lives in wars against Azerbaijan… Ms. Mehriban can listen to Komitas or our national songs in Artsakh… It is also interesting who is going to perform this mugham that is being ensured by Mr. Pashinyan's wife; could it be that Ms. Anna needs to invite musicians from the countries under whose yoke the Armenian people have merely survived for hundreds of years and have always fought against… Ms. Anna probably does not understand or realize what a dangerous statement she is making, despite warning Mehriban of the consequences a new military venture against Artsakh could have for Baku… When Ms. Anna is received in Baku and presented with Komitas or Aram Khachaturian, then let Mehriban accept her in Yerevan and serve her mugham, inviting Kirkorov with his song 'Janm, Azerbaijanm'…

Peaceful Ms. Anna is giving historical lessons to the Azerbaijanis by citing European countries that often had bad or hostile relations with one another but now live in the same economic union, astonishingly placing the Azerbaijanis among European peoples… The mistake of Anna Hakobyan and many peace advocates is that they have not yet understood that the barbaric Turk, who appeared in our region from the Altai and Central Asian steppes, has never been and will never be a European, as he always keeps his yatagan close while negotiating with his adversaries, waiting for the right opportunity to slaughter them… Ms. Anna is mistaken… The Turk will never become a German, a Frenchman, or an Austrian who have acknowledged their mistakes and repented for past crimes… Making peace with Turkey, even if it is a diplomatic move, is very dangerous… And Ms. Anna knows nothing about that domain…

P.S. In general, members of the Aliyev family can only visit Artsakh in one case—if they officially visit Stepanakert…
