Candidates for the President of the Football Federation of Armenia Revealed

The candidates for the presidency of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) have been announced. There are four contenders for the position: legendary footballer Khoren Hovhannisyan, owner of FC Lori Tovmas Grigoryan, FFA Vice President Armen Melikbekyan, and FC Pyunik has nominated Arsen Agajanyan.

It is noted that the election for the FFA president will take place on December 23. The last day for candidate nominations was December 3. Several other candidates aimed to run but could not, as the sports organizations within the Football Federation chose not to nominate them.

Among the 34 non-governmental organizations that make up the Federation, each was allowed to nominate one candidate. FC Pyunik, in representing their nominee Arsen Agajanyan, stated that he fully meets all the criteria for the FFA president. He is a major businessman, having lived in Russia and Cyprus for many years, has made systemic changes in all fields he managed, and commands respect among business circles in several countries. Agajanyan has implemented and continues to engage in numerous educational, social, and sports projects in Armenia or participates in such projects.

According to the announcement, Agajanyan has contributed to the development of football in Armenian communities for years. He is the founder and sponsor of the Cyprus Ararat football club and is a friend and sponsor of various youth football clubs operating in different regions of Russia.

It is worth recalling that on November 21, FFA President Arthur Vanetsyan resigned from his post.
