Video: How to Calculate Vehicle Customs Clearance Costs from January 1. SRC

The State Revenue Committee has released an informational video that allows individuals to calculate the customs clearance amount for personal vehicles imported from countries not part of the Eurasian Economic Union after January 1, 2020.

Thus, the customs clearance calculations for vehicles with a release date of no more than three years will depend on the value of the vehicle and the engine's working volume. For vehicles older than three years, the customs fee will be calculated based on a specific rate for the engine displacement. An environmental tax will also be added in accordance with Article 171 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia.

The SRC reminds that if a passenger customs declaration is registered for a vehicle imported by December 31 inclusive, rather than a transit declaration, the customs clearance will be conducted using the rates effective in 2019. Furthermore, if individuals submit a preliminary customs declaration when importing a vehicle for non-personal use before the end of the year, and the vehicle is placed in a customs control zone within the following 30 days, the customs clearance will also be carried out using the rates applicable in 2019.
