Vandalism Has No Place in Our Society: Prime Minister's Spokesperson
Yesterday, in Yerevan, political activist Shahen Harutyunyan was brought into the police station following an incident where paint was poured on the statue of Alexander Griboedov. This was reported by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Police of Armenia.
“Shahen Harutyunyan has presented himself at the station to provide an explanation regarding the incident,” officials from the police's press service stated.
Shahen Harutyunyan declared that he painted the statue of Alexander Griboedov in red in response to the painting of the memorial plaque of Garegin Nzhdeh by city council member Alexey Vinogradov from Armavir.
Commenting on the incident involving the paint thrown on the statue of Alexander Griboedov in Yerevan, Prime Minister's spokesperson Vladimir Karapetyan stated that expressions of vandalism have no place in our society. “We condemn what has occurred. Such manifestations of vandalism should not have a place in our society. The police are conducting an investigation, and the public will be informed about the results shortly,” emphasized Vladimir Karapetyan.
