Minister Does Not Realize the Disaster He Brings to Education and Science with His Conduct: Vahagn Varagyan

Vahagn Varagyan, the director of the Center for Student Affairs at Yerevan State University, who was also present at the Police Central Division to support detained youths, stated that the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports does not realize the disaster his behavior brings to the field of education and science.

According to Varagyan, Araik Harutyunyan should not have been appointed as minister in the first place. “Someone with such a low intellectual level should have never been appointed as a minister. Any university person who knows him—despite the fact that most do not know him—knows that Araik Harutyunyan does not have the resources to lead the education and science sector,” emphasized Varagyan.

It is noted that youth members of the ARF demanded a meeting with Minister Araik Harutyunyan in front of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports building. Subsequently, police forces detained 24 individuals at the Police Central Division under Article 182 of the Administrative Violations Code for failing to comply with a lawful order from the police.
