Jordan's King Firm in Advancing Cooperation with Armenia

President Armen Sarkissian met on December 3 with Ayman Safadi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who is on an official visit to Armenia.

As reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Armenia, the minister conveyed the warm greetings of King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein Al-Hashimi and expressed determination to advance bilateral cooperation.

President Sarkissian fondly recalled his visit to Jordan in April of this year and his meeting with King Abdullah II, noting with gratitude that the Hashemite royal family has historically always had a warm attitude towards the Armenian people and has supported them.

The President stated that he had a very constructive discussion with the King and looks forward to hosting His Majesty in Armenia in the near future.

Minister Ayman Safadi particularly emphasized the important role of the Armenian community in Jordan's life. The meeting addressed the development of relations between the two countries and the opportunities to more effectively utilize the existing potential in mutually beneficial areas.

The interlocutors agreed that the two countries share many commonalities, being bearers of ancient civilizations. Lacking abundant natural resources, Armenia and Jordan value and appreciate human resources.

Both parties concurred that the two countries can successfully collaborate in advanced technologies, education, science, agriculture, food security, and tourism, emphasizing the need for practical steps to be taken.
