Roads Blocked and Difficult to Navigate in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported that as of December 2 at 17:00, there are blocked and difficult to navigate roads throughout Armenia.
The Vardenis Pass (from Gegharkunik region) and the Sotk-Karvachar highway are closed for trucks with trailers and difficult for others to navigate.
Snowfall has been reported on the Martuni-Jambarak road in Gegharkunik province, in the cities of Gavar, Vardenis, and in the Lori region's Spitak and Stepanavan, as well as in the Aragatsotn region's Aparan and Tsaghkadzor areas, in Shirak province, and in the village of Gorayk in Syunik province, specifically in the area known as 'Meghri Mountain.'
Fog has been reported on the Sotk-Karvachar road in the city of Kajaran in Syunik province.
According to the information received from the Department of Roads of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for trucks with trailers and open for others.
Information from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia indicates that there are approximately 230 trucks accumulated on the Russian side.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires. Construction work is being carried out on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Bagratashen road, due to which the section is closed for trucks. An alternative route has been established.
