Please, all parents: Do not buy any explosive devices for children – Torosyan

Arsen Torosyan, the Minister of Health of Armenia, wrote on his Facebook page:

Unfortunately, the New Year holidays sometimes bring misfortune to some of our families due to the use of explosive devices by children. I just received a report from my pediatrician colleagues that incidents of children's fingers and hands being crushed and amputated due to explosions of these devices are once again being recorded. Annually, 10 to 15 children lose fingers solely for these reasons.

Until we regulate the sale of household explosives at a legislative level, I urge all parents simply NOT TO BUY any explosive devices for their children and to talk with their children about the dangers associated with them. I ask the same from educators in schools.

I am confident that New Year celebrations can be joyful without dangerous explosives that threaten our children's lives and health.
