Appealing to 'Thieves-in-Law' in Ukraine to Be Considered a Criminal Offense
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada that proposes criminal liability for the creation of criminal groups and granting the status of 'thief-in-law.' This was reported by TASS.
The document has been sent for discussion with a note indicating it is deemed 'urgent' by the President.
According to the draft, creating criminal gangs, bestowing the status of a thief-in-law, appealing to criminal world authorities with requests or demands for committing a crime, gatherings of criminal world representatives, known as 'skhodkas', and similar activities will be considered criminal offenses.
