I Might Also Become Minister: Former Deputy Minister of Education Hovhannes Hovhannisyan
The newspaper 'Haykakan Zhamanak' reports that in recent times, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, a deputy from the 'My Step' faction and former deputy minister of education, has been noticeably active. He is among the 20 individuals who signed a statement in favor of the 'Open Foundation for Armenia,' linked to the Soros Foundation. Hovhannisyan does not leave the podium of the National Assembly; he gives speeches, proposes ideas, and participates in briefings.
It is worth noting that he is the most likely candidate to become the rector of Yerevan State University (YSU), but after student protests, he may also be a candidate for the position of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports if Arayik Harutyunyan resigns.
Hovhannisyan enters and exits the meeting halls with such cosmic speed that he manages to avoid being bombarded by reporters' questions. Nonetheless, during a rapid 'exit,' we managed to ask him when he plans to defend his doctoral thesis, as this is crucial for his chances of becoming YSU rector. 'Whenever I want, I will defend it then,' he shot back while running. 'When do you want to?' we queried. 'Whenever I want a lot,' he replied.
Are you waiting for the student protests to stop? He continued to run. It is said that he might also become a minister. 'When you want, that's when I will become a minister too,' he said and dashed back into the National Assembly hall.
