Alen Simonyan Introduces Bill for Transition to Daylight Saving Time

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan posted on his Facebook page: “Recently, I have put three draft laws into circulation. The first concerns the adjustment of time, which will allow for a transition to daylight saving time and the use of natural light to save electricity and more.

The second law pertains to foreigners, which will enable football clubs to acquire foreign players for Armenian football, helping to develop the sport.

Lastly, the bill on the sale of fir trees aims to reduce the slaughter of trees that occurs during the New Year period, when 10 trees are imported from abroad in a week, while thousands are cut down locally and then discarded. The natural fir can only be present in homes during New Year if it is in a pot, allowing it to be relocated and planted later.

These three are part of a larger legislative package, with more to come next.
