Man Attacked by Caucasian Leopard Shares Details of Encounter
Days ago, a Caucasian leopard attacked a citizen in one of the forests near Yenokavan. 35-year-old Arman Gabrielyan was taken to the Ijevan Medical Center with numerous deep wounds.
A reporter from SHANTNEWS.am spoke with the victim, who recounted that he had been keeping pigs in the forest and had noticed that the number of pigs was decreasing day by day for the past month.
“On the day of the incident, I noticed that dangerous animal about 60 cm away from me. At that moment, I raised my fist near my head, but it bit my hand. I managed to pull my head back, but it threw me to the ground. This whole process lasted about 50 seconds. My hunting rifle fell from my hand, and I shot, but not at it; I couldn’t even shoot at it. The shot made it flee,” the victim recounted.
Gabrielyan remembers that the leopard weighed about 80-90 kg. He continues to be under medical supervision, but his condition is stable.
Yesterday, it was reported that after the incident involving the Caucasian leopard in Yenokavan, photo traps are being set up in the area.
