Jermuk Residents Feel Deceived and No Longer Trust the Government

According to the newspaper "Past," recent reports indicate that the authorities have been using administrative tools on the ground regarding the Amulsar issue, trying to exert pressure on the residents of Jermuk in order to reach an agreement on the exploitation of the mine.

The paper's sources reveal that local leaders have been particularly active on this front, having been tasked with taking steps to create a "consensus" among the population on this issue.

A local resident interviewed by the newspaper stated that in Jermuk and the surrounding villages, which are directly connected to the geographical position of the Amulsar mine, "the residents feel deceived and no longer trust the government’s actions and promises, as the residents cannot accept or understand how the mine can be exploited with such disregard for the people's opinions."

There are also reports that a new wave of protests regarding Amulsar is expected soon, which will also reach the capital.
