Director of a Yerevan Pharmacy Arrested: New Revelations
The anti-drug unit of the Armenian police's Criminal Investigation Department has made significant progress in combating illegal drug trafficking. On November 18, they apprehended a 44-year-old man from Yerevan at the intersection of Halabyan and Arzumanyan streets, based on operational data suggesting he was obtaining, possessing, and using illegal drugs.
During a personal search, officials found psychoactive pills in his possession. Further investigations revealed that the man had purchased these pills from one of the pharmacies in the Ajapnyak administrative district.
On November 19, police, acting under a court order, searched the pharmacy and discovered 56 packets of psychoactive pills. The pharmacy's director was then taken to the Mashtots police station and subsequently arrested. Operational-investigative measures led authorities to determine that the pharmacy director had acquired the psychoactive pills from a 44-year-old resident of Yerevan, who was also located, apprehended, and arrested.
A forensic chemical examination has been ordered, and the circumstances of the case are currently under investigation.
