The Largest Business Center in Armenia to Be Built on Abovyan Street in Yerevan: Alen Simonyan

The largest business center in Armenia, valued at $200 million, will be built on Abovyan Street in Yerevan. This was stated today by Alen Simonyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia and head of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental delegation, during a meeting with Russian journalists. He addressed the question of why large investments are not being made in the country despite the economic revolution that the government frequently highlights.

“Investments are being made in Armenia, although it is difficult to consider them large. However, we are on the verge of major investments. You know, money loves stability and confidence. For 27 years, our country was plundered, and investors were asked for their ‘share’,” noted the Deputy Speaker.

Simonyan also pointed out that numerous problems within the judicial system are driving investors away. In response to a question regarding driving licenses, Alen Simonyan emphasized that this issue will be resolved in the near future, and certain agreements have already been reached with the Russian side.

According to Russian legislation, only driving licenses from countries where Russian is an official language are recognized when a case is accepted. Due to this regulation, driving licenses from all EAEU member countries are recognized for work as a driver in Russia, except for Armenian ones.
