Ten Cases of Burglary and Burglary Attempts Uncovered in Abovyan

The investigative department of the Kotayk regional investigative committee has uncovered ten cases of residential burglary and attempted burglaries in the framework of a criminal case being investigated in the Abovyan investigative division. One person has been arrested.

According to preliminary information, on November 18, 2019, a resident of Abovyan reported to the Kotayk police department that on October 26, 2019, around 12:30 PM, she noticed an unknown person trying to open the window near her home; however, upon seeing her, the individual fled the scene. Subsequently, the suspected perpetrator was apprehended by the citizen's mother and a man living nearby.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Abovyan investigative division of the Kotayk regional investigative committee under Article 34-177, part 3, item 1.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

During the preliminary investigation, the identity of the individual who attempted the burglary was established, a resident of the village of Mayakovski, born in 1987. He has been arrested.

As a result of extensive investigative and other procedural actions, five additional cases of residential burglary and attempted burglary committed previously by the resident of Mayakovski have been uncovered. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, with necessary investigative actions being undertaken to reveal any other criminal manifestations by the individual.
