Khachatryan Sisters' Court Case Enters New Phase

The court case of the Khachatryan sisters, accused of murdering their own father, is entering a new phase as their lawyers request that the trial be conducted by a jury court, reports RIA Novosti.

Currently, the sisters are charged with murder committed by a group of individuals in preliminary agreement. At the same time, the charges state that their actions were a consequence of the victim's, i.e., their father's, behavior.

"We have submitted a petition to examine the case with the participation of jurors," said lawyer Alexey Lipsker. He added that the jury court is considered more impartial.

Earlier, based on Lipsker's application, an examination was conducted, revealing that their father had severely harmed his daughters' health.

It is worth recalling that the notorious murder of Mikhail Khachatryan occurred in Moscow on July 27, 2018. The body of the 57-year-old man was discovered at the entrance of a house on Lobachevsky Avenue in Moscow, with numerous stab wounds to the neck and chest. The three daughters, who are accused of their father's murder, have confessed to killing him. The investigation revealed that Khachatryan had subjected his daughters to violence for years.
