Hayk Marutyan Discusses Idea of Installing Mahatma Gandhi Statue with Indian Ambassador in Armenia
The Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, received the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Armenia, Kishan Dan Dewal, as reported by the press service of the Yerevan Municipality.
Congratulating the ambassador on taking up his diplomatic mission in Armenia, Mayor Marutyan expressed his readiness to contribute to the deepening and expansion of relations between Yerevan and Indian cities.
Marutyan also emphasized the importance of mutual visits and programs for exchanging experiences between cities.
In turn, Ambassador Kishan Dan Dewal, highlighting the rich history of Armenian-Indian relations, proposed to deepen the ties in specific areas, particularly in cities with a significant Armenian population and heritage in India.
The interlocutors also discussed the idea of installing a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, India’s national hero, in Yerevan.
