Wedding in Martuni Ends with Brawl, Injured transported to Hospital
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, the investigation department of the Vardenis police is preparing materials regarding a call received on November 17 at the Vardenis medical center.
At around 01:50, a report was made to the police that a citizen had been admitted with "lacerated wounds to the right upper lip and lower lip". As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Vardenis police, led by department head Samvel Galstyan, arrived at the hospital.
The police discovered that the injured individual was 48-year-old Hamlet Sargsyan, a resident of the village of Dzovak in the Gegharkunik region.
While doctors were providing assistance to the victim, Vardenis police traced the incident back to a wedding that took place on November 16 at the "Great Armenia" wedding hall in the village of Lichk, Gegharkunik, where residents of Dzovak—27-year-old Vahe Hakobyan, 28-year-old Atom Hakobyan, and 54-year-old Gagik Hakobyan—had assaulted Hamlet Sargsyan's grandson, Gurgan Sargsyan, and son, Hamlet Sargsyan, under unknown circumstances.
According to G. Shamshyan’s information, the materials prepared at the Vardenis police have been forwarded to the Martuni police department, since the incident occurred within the Martuni administrative territory.
