New Incentives Planned for Penitentiary Service Employees
The Ministry of Justice plans to reward penitentiary service employees with medals, badges, and certificates of the penitentiary service.
Such amendments to the Law on Penitentiary Service have been proposed by the Ministry of Justice on the unified website for the publication of legal acts.
The ministry believes that the addition of types of incentives will serve as an additional motivation for employees to perform their duties more skillfully, diligently, and properly.
"At the same time, it will be possible to adequately evaluate and reward employees who properly fulfill their official and professional duties, thereby raising the status of the penitentiary service in society," the Ministry of Justice emphasized in the discussed project.
Currently, badges are awarded in the penitentiary service solely by the Minister of Justice based on the recommendation of the head of the penitentiary service, while there are no provisions for rewarding with medals and certificates of the penitentiary service.
The ministry proposes to authorize the Minister of Justice and the head of the penitentiary service to grant these incentives.
“By establishing the awarding of ‘medals’ and ‘certificates of the penitentiary service’ as types of incentives for long-term service, as well as fulfilling official duties and tasks properly, it will create an opportunity to more effectively evaluate the work of penitentiary service employees,” the Ministry of Justice stated as justification.
