Cows Drink Water Flowing from Tailings Dump: Alarm Raised to State Structures

The Armenian Environmental Front has released a photo from 2016 showing cows drinking the water flowing from the Arzvani tailings dump. Accompanying the photo is the following statement: "We have sent an official inquiry to two state bodies requesting the following information: 1. Have laboratory studies ever been conducted to check the physicochemical indicators of the waters discharged from natural water flows by companies exploiting metal mines, and their compliance with the permissible discharge limits (PDL) granted to these companies? 2. If so, we ask for all complete results of these studies to be provided."
