Former Officials Suspected of Illegally Acquiring Property Without Compensation
The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has received a report from a citizen concerning the illegal alienation of property in the Agveran community of the Kotayk region, which has been forwarded to the Kotayk regional prosecutor's office.
According to the public relations department of the Prosecutor General's Office, materials are being prepared at the police based on the report. Media reports suggest that former Minister of Transport and Communication Gurgen Sargsyan and Arthur Baghdasaryan, the president of the Armenian political party Orinats Yerkir, are suspected of illegally acquiring a resort complex in the Agveran community without compensation.
The value of the property is approximately $5 million.
