Clashes Continue Along Turkish-Syrian Border: UN
The UN has reported that armed clashes continue in several areas along the Syrian-Turkish border. This was announced on November 15 by Mark Lowcock, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, during a Security Council meeting dedicated to Syria.
“I continue to closely monitor the developments in northeastern Syria. Following the agreements reached on October 17 and 22, the level of violence has decreased. However, clashes continue in border regions, particularly in Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad,” Lowcock stated.
“The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has received reports indicating that since the escalation began, 49 civilians have been killed. They have died as a result of airstrikes, ground attacks, sniper fire, and actions from armed groups,” he added.
