No Privileges Granted to RyanAir; We Invite All Airlines Worldwide, Says Pashinyan
The government proposes to amend the existing legislation and exempt all new flight routes that have not been operated in the past year from the "air tax." This decision was made during today's government meeting. The Prime Minister reminded that when the entry of RyanAir into Armenia was announced, there were discussions suggesting that privileges were being extended to that company.
"No privileges are granted to RyanAir. We invite all airlines from around the world, without exception. There will be some exceptions related to our national security interests," said Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister stated that the privilege associated with this specific airline is only applicable because that airline has chosen to take advantage of it at this time. However, any company, according to Pashinyan, can also benefit if it wishes to enter the Armenian market.
