Wolves Attack and Kill Over 25 Sheep of a Large Family in Aragatsotn
In a dramatic incident in the Aragatsotn province today, November 13, a local resident reported hearing alarming noises between 3:00 and 3:30 AM. 67-year-old Grisha Petrosyan stepped outside his home in the 7th alley of the Voskevaz village and spotted a wolf. In a moment of bravery, he threw a stick at the approaching animal, which fled the scene.
After the encounter, Grisha and his wife, 61-year-old Susanna Petrosyan, discovered that a majority of their sheep, which were kept just in front of their house, had been brutally attacked. Many sheep were found dead, with others injured, and the veterinarian indicated that most of them were unlikely to survive.
According to reports from Shamshyan.com, the Petrosyans informed the police department of Ashtarak about the incident. The local community leader, Haik Hovhannisyan, reached out to Sergey Movsesyan, an elected Member of the National Assembly from the area, who promised to assist the affected family as much as possible.
The Petrosyan family is facing social challenges, grappling with serious health issues and consisting of over 12 members. Their livelihood primarily depended on raising these sheep, and a significant portion of their income was spent on medication due to their health concerns.
