VIDEO: Theft of State and Public Property Uncovered

On November 6, a report was received at the Yeghegnadzor police department stating that pipes located in the middle of Areni and Rind, belonging to the Areni community, were stolen.

Several hundred meters of pipes of various diameters were taken. According to current investigation data, the community suffered damages exceeding 2 million drams.

Criminal investigators of the Yeghegnadzor police department, after several days of operational measures, uncovered a number of circumstances surrounding the theft of state and public property. Based on this information, a 58-year-old man, a resident of Yerevan, was detained as a suspect, who then gave a confession.

Subsequent measures revealed that the suspect transported the pipes using a large Kamaz truck to the Gegharkunik region and sold part of the stolen items for several hundred thousand drams to a company director, while the other part was sold for several hundred thousand drams to a man conducting drainage work. The investigation is ongoing.
