Turkish Minister: We Are Ready to Open a New Chapter in Relations with the U.S.
The visit of Turkey's President to the U.S. occurs at a time of crisis. This was stated by Turkey's Communications Minister Fahrettin Altun while commenting on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to the United States, according to the Turkish television network NTV.
“We are ready to open a new chapter in our relations with the U.S. and strengthen our strategic cooperation. We are determined to find solutions based on mutual interests and respect for the development of our cooperation. The agreement on the withdrawal of Kurdish forces from northern Syria has not been fully implemented, and the Kurds are carrying out terrorist activities against the local population,” he said.
It should be noted that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is in the U.S. from November 12-13. Erdoğan has stated that during his visit, he plans to discuss the issue of non-implementation of Turkish-American agreements with U.S. President Donald Trump.
