LIVE: The National Assembly Discusses the 2020 Budget Proposal
The draft budget for 2020 aims to enhance Armenia's attractiveness to foreign investors, supported by reforms in the tax sector. This was stated by Armenia's Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan during the discussion of the state budget proposal for 2020 in the National Assembly on November 13.
It should be noted that the total expenditures of Armenia's 2020 budget are set to increase by nearly 17 percent (around 271 billion AMD), reaching a total of 1 trillion 880.2 billion AMD. Meanwhile, revenues are expected to rise by only a little over 8 percent, amounting to 7 trillion 697.6 billion AMD. Consequently, the budget deficit will increase to 182.6 billion AMD, with the deficit-to-GDP ratio jumping from 0.6 to 2.6 percent.
