ORSIS Case Transferred from Investigative Committee to Special Investigative Service

The case of the ammunition factory of the Russian company 'Promtekhnologiya' (brand ORSIS) has been transferred from the Investigative Committee to the Special Investigative Service of Armenia. This was reported to NEWS.am by the spokesperson of the Special Investigative Service, Marina Ohanyan.

"The criminal case has been transferred to the Special Investigative Service, it has been accepted for proceedings, and a preliminary investigation is underway," said Marina Ohanyan.

A criminal case was initiated in Armenia concerning 'negligent attitude in service' due to the failure of a weapons supply tender involving the Russian company. In May, for the first time in its history, the Armenian Ministry of Defense announced a competition for the supply of military equipment worth several million dollars. Only the Russian ORSIS company met the qualification criteria. Later, it became known that the tender was closed without any explanation.

ORSIS appealed to the review commission and engaged a lawyer to protect its interests in Armenia, resulting in a lawsuit being filed. The military attaché of the Armenian Embassy in Russia was also informed about these developments.
