Unlike today's leaders, Lavrov spoke out about the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh: Ashotyan
Indeed, Pashinyan's manipulative art extends to foreign policy as well. This was stated by the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, on his Facebook page.
He specifically noted: “Previously, when discussing the resolution of the Artsakh issue, Pashinyan proposed a principle acceptable to the three peoples, which faced significant criticism within Armenia. And today, he has effectively told Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov about a solution acceptable to three parties. At first glance, this seems like a minor difference, but in reality, it carries a profound significance. While the first version was pure and dangerous populism, the second reflects the negotiation logic that has existed since the beginning of the dialogue process.
We thank the Russian Foreign Minister for this clarification. Also, for publicly acknowledging the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination, unlike Armenia's current leaders. Lavrov's words also made it clear that the principles enshrined on the negotiation table today are what we have, regardless of Pashinyan’s claims about continuing the process from his own point.
As for the proposal to bring Artsakh back to the negotiation table, unfortunately, it is not considered dominant by the Russian side.
I will express my thoughts separately on other messages related to Lavrov's visit.
