Lavrov Effectively Responded to Azerbaijan's Unconstructive Statements: Rubinyan

Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan wrote on his social media page: "Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, today in Yerevan, citing the words of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stated that the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be acceptable to Armenia, Artsakh, and Azerbaijan, and added, 'It is hard to argue with this.'

In response to the Azerbaijani side's unconstructive statements about resolving the conflict solely within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, the Russian Foreign Minister reiterated that the interests of Armenia, Artsakh, and Azerbaijan must be taken into account and also referenced the right of nations to self-determination and the principle of exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict.

With these responses, Sergey Lavrov effectively countered Azerbaijan's categorical and unconstructive statements, reaffirming that the resolution of the conflict cannot disregard the principles of the right to self-determination and the non-use of force and emphasized that Artsakh must have a say in determining its own fate.

Thus, the absurd accusations from the camp of the previous regime, which have been voiced for months that 'we are in a poor negotiation position because of Nikol Pashinyan or are regarded as the unconstructive side', have become invalidated."
