Fire Erupts on Opposing Mountainside of Lermentovo Community Contained

On November 10, at 17:23, the emergency service received a call reporting that grassland was burning on the left side of the Vanadzor-Dilijan highway, across from the Lermentovo community.

The deputy director of the Gugark Forest Enterprise received information that the fire was located in a difficult-to-access area, and there was no risk of spread.

At 21:30, additional information was received that a fire spot was observed on the mountain adjacent to the villages of Lermentovo and Shahumyan. At 21:35, contact was made with the mayor of Lermentovo. He informed that the fire was located about 4 km from the road, at the top of the mountain, with no access routes available. Monitoring was being conducted on site.

On November 11, at 08:18, an 8-member firefighting team from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the mountainside opposite Lermentovo village along the Vanadzor-Dilijan highway (the mountain known as Svantsi). The fire was contained by 11:38. At 16:12, firefighting operations were halted. The fire covered an area of approximately 20 hectares of grassland. Monitoring is being conducted on site by employees of the Gugark Forest Enterprise.
