A Different Type of Conversation: Yeghegnadzor Mayor
On November 10, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the city of Yeghegnadzor in the Vayots Dzor province. He became acquainted with the subsidized projects underway in the city and expressed dissatisfaction with its condition, stating that he sees no implementation of any projects there. "If it's not finished, why is there no equipment here? One side is demolished, the other side is demolished; it's the good old days," said Pashinyan. He also raised concerns regarding the city’s lighting, which should have been realized through the subsidized project.
In an interview with ArmDaily.am, the governor of Vayots Dzor, Ararat Grigoryan, mentioned that he was not aware of these shortcomings. "Yeghegnadzor municipal leader Davit Harutyunyan conveyed that there are no issues in the city, and the subsidized projects are being carried out on time. I hadn't had the chance to familiarize myself with the subsidized projects in person," he stated.
When asked if he spoke with Davit Harutyunyan after the visit, the governor replied, "We had a different type of conversation. We invited them, and they, along with their staff and entrepreneurs who are undertaking projects in the city, came and understood that the work needs to be carried out properly." Grigoryan noted that representatives from the governor's office would be present in Yeghegnadzor every day. "Our employees will be there every day, and I will be there too; our staff is already engaged in this phase today," he added.
In response to a clarifying question regarding whether the staff has noticed any work being done in the city, Ararat Grigoryan confirmed, "Yes, they started yesterday; how could they not start?"
